Manchester City have entered the race for the Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga after pulling out of a deal for Declan Rice, unwilling to match Arsenal’s £105m offer for the West Ham captain.
Veiga, who notched up an impressive 11 goals last season, has also captured the attention of Liverpool and Chelsea. With a €40m (£34.6m) release clause, the 21-year-old is on City’s radar as they seek to strengthen their midfield, having lost Ilkay Gündogan to Barcelona and missing out on Rice. The club has recently acquired Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea.
