Television personality Ryan Seacrest is set to take over the hosting duties on the popular game show “Wheel of Fortune” after current host Pat Sajak retires next year.
Seacrest announced on Tuesday that he has signed a multi-year deal with Sony Pictures Television, starting with the show’s 42nd season. Seacrest, known for his hosting gigs on “American Idol” and “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,” expressed his gratitude at being given the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of the legendary Sajak.
He also lauded Vanna White, Sajak’s co-host since the early 1980s. Sajak announced on his Twitter account earlier this month that the upcoming 41st season would be his last.
